Where did that month go?

Apologies… I’m not sure where the last month has gone!

A lot has happened in the Davidson household…. Mark’s parents kindly came down to stay and have re-done our bathroom and toilet. They look fab, although we’re missing the green carpet that the previous owners left!!!!

In addition to doing the bathroom there was lots of quality grandparent time. We all went camping for a weekend in Kent. The main reason for doing this was to attend a family reunion on Judith’s side of the family. It was a lovely weekend and I think we got the best of the British weather.

Dakota (the dog) also visited and became Bethany’s best friend for the week. Generally Bethany was very gentle with him, but every now and again the excitement got a bit too much and Dak would get hit by the excited flailing arms! Bethany also managed to point at the dog and say ‘Dak’ on several occasions. We were very excited about this until she pointed to Gran and said Dak as well! Still no indication that ‘mummy’ is going to get a mention in the near future!

Chasing Dak certainly encouraged Bethany’s crawling to move up several gears and along with pulling herself up on anything that is nearby she is also walking quite happily with a baby walker or someone’s fingers as support. Bethany has also conquered going up steps this week... the worry is how she gets back down!

Leaving the workmen (aka Alex and Judith) to get on with things Mark and I headed down to Wales for an extended bank holiday weekend. We had a great time visiting Great Grandma Willis and then camping at Three Cliffs bay on the Gower, where we met up with Spanna. The weather was absolutely fantastic; we did lots of lovely walks, drank lots, played scrabble and all of us went swimming in the sea. Bethany discovered sand and loved knocking down sandcastles… built with her new bucket and spade that Jill and Ian gave her.

Teeth report: No more teeth have come through, although you can see the top ones waiting to push through at any moment.

Cringe report: Bethany was caught eating a spider on Monday morning…. Luckily Mummy managed to rescue the spider before it was too late!
