The start of December... birthdays, nativities and crawling!

December has begun with the usual mad frenzy of activity in the Davidson household...
We went to the school Christmas Fair, where Bethany and Callum met Father Christmas.
Bethany had her birthday party and on Thursday Bethany turns 5 (I can't believe it!). Saturday we go to the pantomime and Sunday is Daddy's birthday....

This morning we went to watch Bethany's first school Christmas play. It was absolutely brilliant and the children were amazing. Bethany delivered her lines confidently and looked like she was having a ball joining in with all the songs and actions. Bethany seems to be embracing everything to do with life at school and is currently very enthusiastic about her reading (long may that continue). She now has books with words in and is beginning to recognise some of the basic words consistently.

Callum is loving football and has moved up to the next class. He is now one of the youngest but seems to be holding his own. We are trying to work on Callum's volume control!!! If there is more than one person in the room Callum seems only able to SHOUT.

Elsie can now move! This was not on my agenda before Christmas, but apparently it was on hers. She doesn't really crawl, but seems to get herself on to all fours then propels forward onto her tummy. Mix this with the odd roll and she can get anywhere! She can sit for longer periods on time now, but definitely not without someone being ready to catch her when she's had enough!
In the last week Elsie has cried a few times... this has been such a rare occurance up until now that I was actually quite concerned. Reasons for crying have been:
'I want my milk now!'
'I want my food.... come on mum'
'my teeth are hurting' (still not through, but close)
and 'Oi, I was playing with that - don't you take it away from me'
